Amaterasu is celebrated as a Sun Goddess in Japan &the supreme deity in the Shinto Religion. Her archetype includes: Illumination, Cultural Unity, Resurgence, Fertility,& Royalty.

Major symbols attributed to Amaterasu are the Mirror, Sword, & Jewel (which became the imperial regalia of Japan).
