King B/Fela Queen

In this werkk, I painted Beyoncé in the makeup and jewelry particular to the Kalakuta Queens (aka Fela Queens, the wives & dancers/back up singers of famed musician/Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti). This piece is an homage and a visual of the all the different elements running through my head when I first listened to Grown Woman. I love love love Beyoncé and one of my favorite albums of hers is 4, whats yours?
